Site Design and Usability Project
A long time client of Molecular, ADI requested a design and usability overhaul for their 7000+ page web site on behalf of its registered members, customers and site visitors. My role as IA Lead for this project included work on and direction of the following tasks:
    • requirements gathering
    • competitor site surveys
    • usability assessment
    • field research and persona creation
    • wireframed prototypes and presentations of same to client stakeholders
    • paper prototype testing
    • usability test summaries
    • high level and complex information architecture and site navigation
    • content hierarchy
    • style guide creation
    • working with production and graphic design leads on page layouts and templates
    • work breakdown structure and schedule preparation

    ADI is an industry leader in the development, manufacture and marketing of high-performance integrated circuits (ICs) used in signal-processing applications. My role as dedicated IA Team Lead for all of the IAs assigned to projects for this client included the following responsibilities:

    • resource allocation
    • project estimation
    • work breakdown structures and schedule review
    • meeting facilitation internally and with client
    • reviewing team status
    • liason with other senior staff leads and client account executive

    Each of the Molecular Information Architecture team members is an advocate for user needs and issues. The Molecular IA defines the user experience for each client project and ensures that usability and human factors guidelines are followed when translating client requirements into a user experience. As such, the IA is the bridge between the client, the site users and the disciplines within the developer organization. Tasks include but are not limited to
